Dear visitors, friends. In the next 10 months, there will be many polls concerning upcoming Federal elections offered by just about every media outlet in Australia. Also, there will be polls conducted in the streets of our cities.
What makes the poll at activeopinion.org unique? Our poll is not advertised anywhere, our poll is not offered to readers of some particular media outlet and our poll is not conducted in any particular suburb or city. It means that our polls do not discriminate or exclude anyone by including only certain groups of prospective voters.
The idea of this and any other poll at activeopinion.org is that they measure not only opinion of the people but people’s political activism as well.
Look at how we started the movement. Firstly, we let a very few people know about the polls available at activeopinion.org. These people were our friends and co-workers. Also, we mentioned activeopinion.org in a few blogs on various political issues.
A week later, we did not need to “advertise” ourselves because people who were informed first passed this info on to other people and so on and so forth. People keep coming to activeopinion.org and vote. They submit their questions for polls as well. The results are encouraging. The number of people voted went well beyond the circle of our friends and friends of friends. We receive feedback from people who live in different states and could not possibly be connected to us. This is an example of political activism. People took care to share the link to polls with others. Did they do it hoping that those who received the link would vote alike? May be. In any case, people liked the idea of having ability to influence the policy making process in this country.
Thank you for your support, thank you for voting and good luck.
The Federal election poll is coming here soon.
